Right now, we’re sitting in the living room, all three of us. The only one talking is Ella. 🙂
It’s cute but I have no idea what she’s talking about most of the time. Her speech is very clear for the most part, but when she gets excited about something her words get jumbled or she starts babbling and it makes no sense.
Right now, she’s talking about a helicopter, how cloudy it is outside, her purse on the floor, the stockings on the wall and who the letters stand for on each stocking, and, while she’s rubbing her eyes trying to prolong the inevitable sleep that’s coming, she’s talking about how neither of our laptops are hers.
The best part of her “almost-bedtime-but-I-don’t-want-go-to-sleep” chatter is the singing that’ll come. She’ll sing whatever comes to mind. Sometimes it’s “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” or “You Are My Sunshine” or “Jesus Loves Me.” Sometimes her songs run into each other so it sounds more like, “You are my sunshine little star! For the Bible tells me so!”
I know Miss Chatterbox will eventually fall asleep; she can’t hold out like we can lol. But until then, we’ll sit and listen to her talk about everything and anything, waiting for the songs to start and the sleep that will follow.
