I was asked by an employee at a neighboring job if I had any summer plans. I said, “Not really.” He said he’d probably go fishing or something but not much else.
But it got me thinking: When did summer become just another season?
As a kid, I always looked forward to summer vacation. I wasn’t in school. I could sleep in. I got mess around with my friends and family. You know, all that crazy, fun, kid stuff.
So what happened?
I have no clue.
But a summer vacation sounds like a terrific idea. Maybe we could go camping, pitch our tent under a canopy of trees and roast marshmallows at night. Maybe we could go for a weekend somewhere, stay in a hotel, be bums. LOL
Time away from the normal grind is always a good thing. It can help you refocus and give you a fresh perspective. It can also help you reconnect as a couple or as a family.
So, summer, summer, I know you’re here. Hopefully we’ll take advantage of your warm days and last minute getaway deals, maybe find a place to lounge around and just be lazy together as a family.
That sounds like the perfect summer vacation to me.
